I love finding things that I sewed before nido opened, when the creativity & inspiration process was so intense & the feeling of accomplishment at the end of a project was so rewarding. It was all so fresh back then that everything was a learning experience. I came across these patchwork frames that I made just a few years ago but long enough ago now that my style & technique has changed drastically. It puts a smile on my face remembering how unbelievably hard it was for me to make these frames, to find fabric that matched & looked good together, to piece the patchwork & sew them all together…But inspiration is a powerful thing & boy was I inspired to sew & make all things handmade. One of my first & old time favorite books is Denyse Schmidt Quilts. Everything about the book makes me want to sew & the smaller projects are all somewhat attainable for beginner sewists. The “Frame of Mine” project was a hit one Christmas. I made these two for our home & made others as gifts. I think they are pretty darn cute, don’t you?
