nani iro lap duvet

Here at nido we’re loving these super easy hand tied lap quilts! They’ve been so popular at snack and sew, due to their simplicity, that Stephanie and I found ourselves wanting to give it a try. Who doesn’t love an instant gratification project?

Nani Iro double gauze cotton really is perfect for this project. Not only is the fabric ultra soft, but the prints give a real sophistication to such a simple project. These would definitely make great gifts.

The Purl Bee has an awesome tutorial on how to put these blankets together. It’s just batting sandwiched between two pieces of fabric. So simple! There are lots of differnet ways to “quilt” the blanket when you’re done, but Stephanie and I chose the old fashioned hand tying method.

This really is the perfect kind of project to work on for Snack and Sew coming up on the 11th! I may just have to make another one for myself.

Have a great weekend everyone!
