Screen Shot 2017-03-02 at 3.36.54 PMBeatrice Perron Dahlen is a pattern designer based in Southern Maine and the creator of the new book MAINE Knits. Her knit designs have been published in Knitscene, Interweave Knits, Knit.Purl., amirisu, Pom Pom Quarterly, Berroco, Quince & Co., Swan’s Island and Tolt Yarn and Wool.

She studied fibers, photography and sculpture at Massachusetts College of Art in Boston where she received her B.F.A.  She also holds an M.Ed. from Antioch University.  Besides knitting and most other needlecraft she enjoys gardening, cooking, taking photographs, writing and most creative endeavors.

Screen Shot 2017-03-02 at 3.37.21 PMBeatrice’s latest pattern release, MAINE Knits, is inspired by the Sea, Farm, and Wild of Maine. It’s full of 16 beautiful patterns, all designed by Maine makers. It includes essays from MAINE folk and patterns from herself, Carrie Bostick Hoge, Alicia Plummer, Bristol Ivy and more. This book will keep your hands busy and warm your soul.

stwff_beatrice3Beatrice has also collaborated with Vermont’s own Wing & A Prayer Farm to design the Gentle Ewe Shawl, featuring Tammy’s Thelma & Louise yarn. It is a shop fav, you have to check out!
