This weekend I joyously packed away my winter clothes, but now there is a huge gap in my closet! What is a girl to do? Why, sew some adorable summer outfits of course! I got a jump start on it last week with the Mission Maxi Dress pattern from Pretty Ditty. There is an option for a simple tank top, which I made out of the Nani Iro knitted Uchu fabric in grey and red. I can’t stress enough how EASY this pattern is to make! Also, the whole thing takes under two hours from beginning to end. Can we say wow?
The Mission Maxi Dress pattern is available at the Burlington shop & will SOON be available online as well.
I have officially started Franco’s Patchwork Style quilt & wanted to share my favorite block, so far, with you all. Four down, sixteen to go!
New Colette Patterns have arrived & we also have a classic back in stock! The Sencha blouse has made its return to the shop, bringing with it the high-waisted a-line Ginger skirt, the adorable peter pan collared Violet top & the oh-so-feminine Cinnamon dress and camisole. Colette Patterns are modern, youthful & truly designed with all women in mind. The patterns have a vintage flair that is too cute to pass up & are simple to construct using little details, like bust darts, to ensure a well fitted garment.
Stop by the shop to check ‘em out or head over to our online shop. Happy sewing!

In keeping with the local & regional direction we are taking our yarn, we are proud to offer Tidal Yarns! Created by designer Patricia Fortinsky, who is based in Connecticut, Tidal Yarn comes in contemporary solids that have a raw beauty about them & are available in either a merino wool or a merino wool/alpaca blend. Currently I have my eye on “Flax” which is a rich mustardy-golden yellow to make a loose knit cowl to compliment my spring dresses. They are handspun & dyed using all natural dyes. Truly unique!
