nido is having its 3rd anniversary party on Sunday, September 16th from 4:00-6:00. We will be celebrating with snacks, beverages, a store wide SALE and a special demonstration from Rae from Made-By-Rae.

That’s right folks, two sessions of knitting for beginners has been added to nido’s fall/winter class schedule. In our 3-part class, you will learn how to cast on, knit, purl, increase, decrease, piece a project together and how to cast off. The end project is a simple hat knit on straight needles.
The cost is $72 and includes yarn and needles.

skinny laminx fat quarters are the latest screen printed fabrics to hit the shelves at nido. South African illustrator and designer Heather Moore has a keen eye for modern prints, using fresh colors to compliment her textiles. Screen printed on cotton/linen blends, the fabric itself lends itself well to pillows, aprons, sweet zipper pouches and kitchen towels.
After a full summer of splashing in pools, soccer, long walks in the woods and late night popsicle runs, we finally decided to pack up and head into the woods for a truly relaxing vacation. Words can not describe how it felt to unplug from all technology and kick back with my guys. One of the many highlights was watching Franco and his friends play in their hooded capes. I had made Franco his over a year ago from Meg McElwee’s book, “Growing Up Sew Liberated” and at the very last minute Rochelle was kind enough to whip up a couple for the girls.
