We are thrilled to report that nido has added Anna Maria Horner’s Field Study rayon challis to its curated selection of fabrics offered at the shop. We snapped a bunch more photos of the new collection but our camera batteries died before we could get them transferred to our computer so this one teaser photo will have to do.

This weekend nido is hosting Jennifer Kahn for its Artist Pop Up Series. Jennifer’s work is influenced by both ethnic artifacts and current fashion trends and has been THE go to accessory for women all over Burlington (and beyond!), for over a decade.

We are especially excited to preview Jennifer’s latest work as this event kicks off her 2013 season.

Support your local artists, stop by nido, meet Jenn and check out her jewelry. She will be in the shop selling her jewelry on Friday evening from 5:30 – 7:30, Saturday from 11:00 – 2:00 and Sunday from 12:00 – 3:00. There will be an artist reception on Friday from 5:30 – 7:30.

I just had to share this adorable dress that Patrice, a nido friend and regular, sewed for her 6 month old grand daughter.

Made out of Heather Ross Nursery Versery, this little dress and cap are the sweetest. Thanks for bringing it in to share with us Patrice.

nido is kicking off it’s artist pop up series tomorrow evening with Jeremy Ayers Pottery. The series was carefully put together with the intention of show casing artists’ that share nido’s esthetic. For the next few months we will be hosting local artists, including Jeremy Ayers Pottery, Jennifer Kahn Jewelry and Ashley’s from Film in the Fridge.

We have been a huge fan of Jeremy’s functional pottery pieces for many, MANY years and are very excited to be hosting him at the shop.

Jeremy will be selling his wares at nido Friday evening from 5:30-7:30, Saturday from 11:00-2:00 and Sunday from 12:00 – 3:00. There will be an artist reception on Friday from 5:30-7:30. Be sure to stop by the shop and check out Jeremy’s work. We promise, you will not be disappointed!

new fat quarter bundles

We are in the process of putting together a bunch of new fat quarter bundles for the shop right now. Fat quarters are 18″ X 22″ cuts that are perfect for a wide range of projects including coasters, pic cushions, children’s assessories, a variety of tote bags, computer cases, wallets, wristlets and much, MUCH more. And let’s not forget they are brillant if you dabble in any kind of patchwork. nido’s fat quarter bundles are carefully selected fabrics put together by our staff. Playing around with fabric combinations in a shop full of fun, fresh fabrics is about as good as it gets for fabric lovers like ourselves, and we really enjoy making them.

“Spring Bicycle” is one of our currents favorite combinations.

We also are the digging “Ladybug Patch” bundle.

Glimma is a collection of Lotta’s classic prints mixed in with her most recent designs.

There are also 6 prints in a canvas weight and 4 matching solids!

This Sunday is nido’s annual St. Patrick’s Day sale. Come in and enjoy 20% off anything green. As always, if it has green on it, even if it’s just a spot, it’s fair game!

There are so many fabrics to choose from.

We carry 5 different shades of Swans Island yarn alone! There are also other green yarns by different companies including, Green Mountain Mohair, Peace Fleece and Jamie Rainbow.

And now would be the time to stock up on sewing and knitting notions, including our fabulous project bag! MOST of the packaging is green so you know what that means.

Next on the needles is the Juliette Scarf by Swans Island in their NEW lace weight yarn. SO excited for this one!

nido just received a shipment of a TON of Swans Island’s NEW lace weight yarn in a variety of colors sure to please everyone! This is a wonderfully soft lace weight yarn with great yardage. The base is 50% merino wool and 50% tussah silk. Tussah silk is a sustainable material that is harvested after the butterfly has already left the cocoon.
